First Official Video Game Update
It's been quite some time that I have posted any updates about my progress on my game!
I'm not going to lie, I have been downright lazy about making much progress. I was making some pretty good progress on it for some time, but then work life overwhelmed me and I started to slack on my game.
I can't say that that is a good excuse, but that is what ended up happening. Luckily after forcing myself to get back into the game and trying to remember where I left off, I managed to get back in the swing of things.
I few things that changed when trying to hold myself accountable was adjustment my management workflow.
Originally I was using Trello for my management software, and although I like the program and how I can manage content, I was lacking some accountability and features to make it work properly. Right now, I am using my Trello boards for brainstorming and ideas on how I want my game to progress and types of art work.
My actual management software is Wrike, and that was simply because of the features that it packed within it's free version. I won't get into all the details, but the amount of control and settings that I can do with Wrike along with my brainstorming boards on Trello has helped me get past some hurdles.
Now for the actual updates!
My game is still in the prototype/gray box phase, but I am adding in a lot of features while I do this to streamline the workflow and help my polish the game at the end quicker and easier. I have yet to decide on all the final platforms that I will push this game to. originally I was thinking just web and windows, but I have notes on looking at some mobile options.
One thing for sure is that this game will be a free 2D adventure style game with a Sci-Fi theme. Beyond that I don't have a lot of details to give out since it's still in the beginning phases.
